Sarasota is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Sarasota is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I got a great loaf of sourdough and bought a couple almond chocolate croissants for a friend to try. The bread was awesome! Sourdough like I remember. My friends love the croissants and will be there to get their own. I used the pre order service the night before and walked in the next morning and they handed my my order.

The bread is definitely fresh. but as a employee handling food, you would think they would know when to wear gloves. Leaving the cashier counter and then immediately going to the bread to package it is not my idea good service. I get that they probably cant make the dough with gloves on but after it is fully cook and cooled, you should be able to put on at least a single glove to cover the hand youre grabbing the bread with. Talking over the dough and even on the personal devices while raw dogging the bread is pretty unsettling as well. They make enough money, why is there no gloves within reach? I keep returning because its the only bread my son will eat. I pray over it and keep it pushing but I really wish they would be more sanitary. then stopping to have a conversation with another e mployee while im clearly in a rush is extremely rude as well. I have yet to have a 5 star service here. I wish the bread could serve itself cause they can definitely do without the current staff.

We made it to Bread Bandits for the first time yesterday, despite having intended to for probably a year. We got a smallish boule of white sourdough ($8), sesame bagels,, and a chocolate hazelnut croissant. The sourdough is has great chewy crumb and crisp crust. I would like a slightly more sour flavor, but that might be my personal quirkiness. The sesame bagel is likewise chewy and crisp... more so than than is typical except in certain NYC bakeries. I like them this way, so that was fine by me. What was unusual was the extent to which they were encrusted with sesame seeds. It is almost comical, but in a positive "wow" kind of way. I wish I could be as complimentary about the croissant. It was light, but not really flaky/crisp. The chocolate hazelnut filling was considerably too sweet. Maybe that level of sweetness is the intent, but I found it overpowering. Overall, not very satisfying (and I suspect I would have said the same if a plain one were the same croissant without the filling).

Best sourdough bread in Sarasota! So fresh and delicious! I recently tried their pistachio croissant, wow! Seriously best croissant Iβve ever had! Perfect texture and taste! It was also beautiful! I donβt have social media but I took a picture of it to show friends and family who come to town! We frequent here once a week for a fresh loaf of sourdough but also have tried their ciabatta which is amazing too! My daughter now constantly asks for a piece of bread with butter!

I canβt believe they sold this bread. In our opinion it is very much overcooked. Not sure if their bread is always like this but it was extremely disappointing. We love artisan bread. Few ingredients with sour dough starters are the best. But this tasted like burnt pizza crust. Just curious if this is the how cooked the bread always is or if this was a mistake that should have been tossed.
